Hen’s Art Supply Exchange exists to keep quality art materials in active circulation — in studios, classrooms, and creative hands where they belong.
We accept professional-grade, usable supplies and redistribute them through a pay-what-you-can model that supports artists, students, and educators while reducing waste. Materials don’t expire. Creativity doesn’t either.
If you’re honoring the creative life of someone you love, or simply ready to pass along supplies that no longer serve you, we’re here to help. Art materials deserve to keep creating.
When you bring a donation to the studio, you’re welcome to select items in exchange — or make a contribution to help sustain the Exchange and keep it growing. If you’re planning to bring a larger donation, please contact us in advance to arrange a drop-off time.
Hen’s Art Supply Exchange is a community-supported project and not a registered nonprofit, so we’re unable to provide tax documentation for donations.
Everything in the shop operates on a simple philosophy:
Take what you’ll use. Pay what you can. (We truly mean that.)
Some give more. Some give less. It balances. What matters is that artists feel free to experiment, try new materials, and create without financial pressure.
We love seeing supplies move from one studio to another — watching brushes, paper, paint, and tools find new purpose. It’s a beautiful cycle, and you’re part of it.
We have bags available for shopping, but feel free to bring your own.

Hen’s Art Supply Exchange is currently located at Juxtahub (375 S 10th St, Emmaus, PA) on the 2nd floor.
It’s open to the public Tuesday through Friday by appointment and during special events hosted at JuxtaHub.
Because we are a volunteer-run, working artist studio environment, visits must be scheduled in advance.
To plan your visit, please email us at tinydocenthen@gmail.com. We’ll coordinate a time that works and make sure someone is available to welcome you.
We can’t wait to show you around.

Our Values
We prioritize reuse over perfection.
We believe access to materials fuels creativity.
We support artists, educators, and emerging creatives.
Materials stay within the Exchange — we do not resell for outside profit.
